In summer 1994, Kim Gordon of SONIC YOUTH launched the brand together with Daisy Von Forst, who was also a shop staff at 'XLARGE' and a friend.
In 1991, Mike D of BEASTIE BOYS, involved with XLARGE, reached out to Kim, with whom he had previously interacted.
Kim and Daisy's favorite clothes, that is, items that reflect their real clothes, are launched as X-girl, along with graphic and design elements, and as pioneers of the 'GIRL’S MOVEMENT,' they gained attention as a ladies' street brand involving not only the fashion industry but also music and art.
