"GYM CLASSIC" is a canvas sneaker with an authentic design.
Based on training shoes produced in the 1960s, we have reviewed the comfort and silhouette and recreated them in a modern style.
By reproducing the original construction, which has now been simplified, it has become more durable.
The manufacturing method is vulcanization, which can only be produced in a very small number of factories in Japan.
The "MADE IN KURUME" tag engraved on the heel proves that the shoes were made in a factory in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture.

■Vulcanized manufacturing method■
This method involves adding sulfur to raw rubber and causing a thermal reaction to bond and mold the rubber sole and upper.
As a result of this reaction, the rubber becomes more elastic and strong, making it suitable for use in sneaker soles.
The sole and upper are strongly bonded, making the shoe durable, resistant to breakage, and resistant to deformation.
On the other hand, there is a tendency to shy away from this method because it requires a lot of manual labor and is less productive than other manufacturing methods, but its appeal lies in the intricate and beautiful "beauty of craftsmanship" that can only be achieved through skilled handwork.
