In 1952, Nathan Schwartz, who would later become the founder of Timberland, purchased the rights to Abington Shoe Company and began manufacturing shoes.
In 1973, the world's first fully waterproof guaranteed leather boots "Yellow Boots" were announced.
Later, the brand name of these boots, "Timberland," was used to rename the company to 'The Timberland Company.'
