“I want to create the coolest coveralls.”

Starting from that desire, I rummaged through archives and arrived at a piece from the 1930s by a major denim brand.

It features a chin strap, and all the buttons are change buttons.

While it still retains remnants of tailored design, it is an item from a period when it transitioned into the form typical of coveralls.

There, I felt a sense of luxury.

Rather than simplified patterns like action pleats, it ensures ease of movement through tailored techniques, and furthermore, it is a beautifully three-dimensional silhouette item.

With details suitable for workwear added, it exudes a unique presence. While I want to create such items true to vintage, at , only the chest pocket has been arranged with change button specifications.

By intentionally adding a playful element to the color variations, we propose a unique “twist” that reflects our style.

FOUNDOUR/FOUNDOUR

Keiji Kaneko, who has been active as a fashion buyer for many years, starts “FOUNDOUR” together with vintage director Shinpei Kawada. They pick up items of interest from past archives centered on vintage, expand ideas for clothing creation from there, and shape them with the best team, including pattern makers and factories. The brand name is derived from a coined term combining “FOUND = to discover” and “OUR = team.”
What FOUNDOUR creates is not merely a replica of vintage. To borrow Kaneko's words, it aims to be “clothes that discover the story of styling.”
Surrounded by high-quality clothing daily, Kaneko mentions that a mainstream style has unconsciously formed within him, and ideas for styling have become rigid. However, the joy of fashion should lie in combining clothes with different purposes and origins, weaving one’s own story into them. Returning to that origin, we create clothes that can serve as a “twist” that can be matched with good clothing such as vintage and maison brands.
For example, even a seemingly ordinary broadcloth shirt can be paired seamlessly with good clothing by giving reason to its pattern, details, and sewing, allowing each to enhance the other.
Utilizing the aesthetic sense cultivated as a buyer, we seek out “clothes you want to wear now,” delve into the context of items, and find reasons for clothing creation there. Then, we propose it in a way that allows for the rediscovery of the joy of fashion.
