This is a new and unused item, but since it is a pair of shoes that were sold in-store, there are slight scratches and unevenness on the leather sole. It is a "B-grade item." Additionally, the box for the pair may have minor scratches, dents, color unevenness, and color fading. Although it is a limited stock item, it will be sold at a lower price.

☆CALZARTES【カルサーテス】 is a brand that has been exclusively developed in Japan since 2003 as the 3rd brand of the Spanish brand 【MEERMIN】 by the then Mermin Japan company.

Currently, this brand is handled by Ramis Japan, which inherits the DNA of Melmin Japan.

[The sole does not come off even after long-term wear]
The CALZARTES leather sole collection features a Goodyear welted construction around the entire sole.
[360-degree Full Makkei Method].
The heel is made using a meticulous bottoming technique, similar to the Goodyear method, where the sole is first stitched all around with a McKay stitch, and then the heel is attached to the sole. Additionally, the welt (edge) undergoes a hand-crafted [nail-out processing], and the area around the heel is also hand-trimmed.

Beautiful form and shape
Just like the three-dimensional cutting technology and manufacturing used in high-end custom suit production [Prêt-à-Porter], we have achieved mass production through our [unique 3D upper molding technology] that bonds each cut part on a wooden mold.
In the upper sewing (lasting) stage, by using glue to the absolute minimum and reducing the use of dubra (reinforcement material) to the necessary minimum, we alleviate the burden and stress on the leather, maximizing the inherent texture and functionality of natural leather.

Only full-grain leather (silver-tipped leather) is used for the upper.
*We are particular about the raw leather. We do not use cowhide raw leather of unknown origin.
★Due to the characteristics of grain leather (silver-tipped leather), the intertwined layers of leather fibers are stiff at the beginning of wear, but as you wear them, the fiber layers loosen due to walking movements and temperature changes, eventually conforming to your feet.

☆The lining material is made entirely of cowhide, providing a gentle feel against the foot inside the shoe and also alleviating moisture.
We pursue maximizing the inherent functions and characteristics of leather, which is characterized by the feature of "leather breathes".
The counter uses Italian BACO company's leather board molded counter, which does not lose its shape even after long periods of wear and has excellent hold on the heel.
The sole is made of natural cow leather. The welt and heel use recycled cow leather, which is made by collecting and solidifying the fine particles of leather that occur during the production and processing of leather soles. Its functionality and efficacy are almost the same as regular leather, and it is an environmentally friendly material.
The space between the upper's backside and the sole and insole after the stitching is generously filled with Portuguese 'granulated cork' (in the midsole). Just like shoes made with the Goodyear method, the more you wear them, the cork will "sink in" to match the shape of the wearer's foot, eventually transforming into an insole (midsole) that conforms to the shape of the wearer's foot.
In addition, we use high-quality, durable waxed laces made in Spain for our carefully selected shoelaces.

The entire shoe is treated with an antique finish using custom ink from KENDA in Italy, and additionally, the toe and heel areas are hand-polished with care and time for a glossy finish.

The wooden mold used is 【TROPHY】 British style wooden mold.
This is the latest wooden mold developed in 2021, positioned between the wooden molds 'ZIP' and 'RUI'. It features a deep curve, and the toe is rounded with a 'round toe' design. It was developed in the [EE width] to accommodate the shoe width of Japanese people.
It is also a last developed to more vividly express the [three-dimensional cutting / 3D pattern] for achieving a beautiful shape. We pursue the expression of the curves and shapes of this last without any omissions.

※Because natural leather is used, there may be slight scratches, bloodlines, or unevenness derived from the natural leather.
*1 The shoe box uses black boxes made from recycled paper from Europe to reduce packaging costs. There may be minor scratches, stains, and rubs, etc., but we would appreciate your understanding.

*Since we use natural materials, there may be a characteristic (natural leather) smell, but this is not a defect.
