In 1948, Jean Cassegrain established LONGCHAMP. After setting up a factory in 1957 in Segré, Maine-et-Loire, he gathered craftsmen from the surrounding areas and began full-scale operations. Travel bags made of lambskin and a luggage line combining nylon and leather are known as the Longchamp style. Furthermore, the nylon folding bag xtra-bag was introduced. In 1975, a new soft and gentle style was born. This became the Volevone, which continues to be a beloved staple line of Longchamp.
