In a workshop in Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture, each piece is handmade by artisans using the tatara molding technique.
The technique called Tatara molding uses flat clay, which is pressed against molds to create shapes, resulting in the unique distortions and textures characteristic of Tatara making.
The sleek and chic form gives a sophisticated touch to the dining table. The color variations in smoky tones enhance the dishes beautifully. It is just the right size for side dishes or dessert plates. It also serves as a versatile plate for various uses.

Due to being made of pottery, moisture and dirt accumulate over time, resulting in a change in color of the vessel itself. The expression "to nurture a vessel" is occasionally used, and this product is truly a perfect fit for that phrase.

What is Kasama-yaki
Kasama-yaki is pottery made using clay sourced from the Kasama region in Ibaraki Prefecture, and it has the oldest history of pottery in the Kanto region.
This time, the ceramics from cloenc are from "Mukuyama-gama," where more than 10 potters always showcase their individuality in the workshop. A small group of elite young potters are active at Mukuyama-gama, and there are as many as 5 nationally certified Kasama-yaki traditional craftspeople at this kiln.
