Mossimo Giannulli, raised among an Italian family in Laguna Beach, Los Angeles.
Very fashionable and popular, Mossimo couldn't find what he truly wanted to wear in shops, so he designed and made fluorescent shorts for surfing.
The shorts, with a large "M" on the back, became very popular among young people at the beach and received many orders.
This marked the beginning of the Mossimo brand (1987).
In 1998, at just 32 years old, he debuted in the NY Collection and quickly gained fame.
