☆CALZARTES【カルサーテス】is a brand that has been exclusively developed in Japan since 2003 as the 3rd brand of the Spanish brand【MEERMIN】by the then Mermin Japan Co., Ltd.
Currently, it is handled by Ramis Japan, which inherits the DNA of Mermin Japan Co., Ltd.
☆The products are not limited to those made in India, but are a collection manufactured by companies and factories with which long-term, continuous transactions have been established in Japan, Bangladesh, China, and other countries.
☆Origin of the brand name 【CALZARTES(カルサーテス）】: The brand name is a combination of the Spanish word CALZADO=footwear + the English word ART.

☆This is a cost-effective leather sole collection co-developed with Ramis Japan (Japan) and Affan Shoes Group in South India, manufactured in the group's own factory in India☆

【The sole does not peel off even after long-term wear】
The leather sole collection of AMBUR Tajtan features a
‘360-degree full McKay method’ with McKay stitching around the entire sole.
Similar to the Goodyear method, after McKay stitching around the entire sole, the heel is attached to the sole. Additionally, the welt (edge) is hand-finished with 【nail-out processing】, and the area around the heel is also hand-trimmed, created with intricate bottoming techniques.

【Beautiful form and shape】
Using the same three-dimensional cutting technology and manufacturing as high-end custom suit production 【prêt-à-porter】, we have achieved mass production through our unique 3D upper molding technology by adhering the cut parts on a wooden mold.
During the upper sewing (making the upper) stage, we minimize the use of glue and reduce the use of dubra (reinforcement material) to the bare minimum, alleviating the burden and stress on the leather, thereby maximizing the inherent texture and functionality of natural leather.

【Carefully selected natural leather (raw hide) and dedicated secondary materials】
The leather used for the upper is cowhide grain leather (silver-tipped leather).
※We are particular about the raw hide. We do not use cowhide raw hides of unknown origin.
★During the final finishing of the upper, we do not perform spray (lacquer) finishing to hide any imperfections, in order to maintain the natural characteristics of the leather, such as texture and breathability. Therefore, there may be small leather scratches or bloodlines. We appreciate your understanding.
★Due to the characteristics of silver-tipped natural cowhide, the intertwined fiber layers of the leather may feel stiff at first, but as you wear them, the fiber layers will loosen due to walking movements and temperature, eventually conforming to your feet.

☆The lining material is also made entirely of cowhide, providing a gentle feel against the foot inside the shoe and alleviating moisture.
We pursue maximizing the functionality and characteristics of natural leather, which is known for 【leather breathes】.
The counter does not lose its shape even after long-term wear, using the leather board molded counter from Italy's BACO company, which excels in holding the heel.
The sole is made of natural cow leather. The welt and heel use recycled cow leather, which is made by collecting and solidifying the fine particles of leather generated during the production and processing of leather soles. Its functionality and efficacy are almost the same as regular leather, and it is an environmentally friendly material.
After lasting, the space between the back of the upper and the sole (insole) is generously filled with ‘granulated cork’ made in Portugal. Similar to Goodyear shoes, the cork will “sink” to fit the shape of the wearer's foot over time, eventually transforming into an insole that conforms to the shape of the wearer's foot.
Additionally, the dedicated shoelaces are made of high-quality, durable waxed laces from Spain.

【Carefully hand-polished and hand-dyed finish】
The entire shoe is treated with antique processing using custom ink from Italy's KENDA company, and the toe and heel areas are hand-polished with care and time for a glossy finish.

Wood mold・LAST】
The wood mold used is 【DEUS】 Italian style mold.
Developed in 2019, the boldly shaped last “Deus” features a classic Italian square toe with a deep curve, and while the toe is a slim square toe, it has been developed in 【EE Width】 to accommodate Japanese foot widths.
Moreover, it is a mold developed to express the 【three-dimensional cutting・3D pattern】 more clearly to achieve a beautiful shape. We pursue the expression of the curves and shapes of this last without reservation.

【Others】
※Since natural leather is used, there may be slight scratches, bloodlines, or unevenness due to the nature of the leather.
※To reduce packaging costs, we use boxes made from recycled paper from Europe for each pair. There may be minor scratches, dents, or stains, but we appreciate your understanding.
The reduced packaging costs are passed on to our customers.
※Since natural materials are used, there may be a characteristic (natural leather) smell, but this is not a defect. If you are concerned, please try placing it in a well-ventilated, shaded area to reduce the smell.
