In the summer of 1994, Kim Gordon of SONIC YOUTH launched X-girl together with Daisy Von Furth, who was both a friend and a shop staff member at "XLARGE." The opportunity arose when Mike D of the BEASTIE BOYS, who had been involved with XLARGE since its establishment in 1991, reached out to Kim, with whom he had previously established a connection. By introducing the clothes that Kim and Daisy wanted to wear, essentially their real clothes items, as X-girl, they developed items infused with graphics and designs, gaining attention as a women's street brand that not only influenced the fashion industry but also incorporated music and art, positioning themselves as pioneers of the "GIRL’S MOVEMENT." They continue to draw various elements from the street scenes of music, culture, and sports, proposing basic and timeless items that adapt to the changes of the times, embodying "real girls' street style."
