T.T / T.T / Lot.704 Denim Trousers C1920s / TAIGA TAKAHASHI / Taiga Takahashi
With a deep rise and a straight silhouette from the thigh to the hem,
characterized by a thick, dropped silhouette,
made exactly the same way as in the 1920s, perfectly reproducing all details,
the denim trousers "Lot. 704 DENIM TROUSERS c.1920's" which can be considered an icon of Taiga Takahashi.
Taiga Takahashi preferred denim from brands called store brands over Levi's.
Especially a brand called Foremost, which was operated by "J.C. Penny",
began making denim that mimicked Levi's in the 1920s,
gradually developing original designs with their own identity.
Taiga Takahashi collected these denims,
feeling their trial-and-error efforts to differentiate from Levi's in every detail,
and inherited that spirit, leading to the birth of Taiga Takahashi's original denim.
The material uses U.S.-grown organic cotton,
woven with an old-fashioned shuttle loom in Okayama, using 3/1 left twill
original organic cotton 100% lightweight denim.
Woven slowly on an old shuttle loom, which operates at only one-tenth to one-twentieth of modern looms,
the denim fabric retains the natural unevenness of cotton yarns, creating a beautiful, intentional irregularity.
The warp yarns are dyed with indigo mixed with sulfur dye,
featuring a green cast color tone that has weathered over time,
while the weft yarns are yarn-dyed with rope dyeing, dyed white at the core,
using custom neppy yarns that have yellowed with age.
By combining these two types of yarns,
Taiga Takahashi achieves a deep, rich original indigo blue.
Additionally, a sanforized (shrink-proof) finish is applied,
designed to improve comfort and fit when worn,
and inspired by authentic vintage items, adding thoughtful details.
Design features include rounded front pockets,
rivets at the openings, and buckle backs on the rear,
preserving essential vintage details.
All buttons and back patches are custom engraved and made of iron,
without plating, so they will rust over time, allowing for a natural patina.
The hem uses selvage denim with "white selvage" edges,
with white selvage on the front yoke and cuffs,
adding a stylish touch that reflects the craftsmanship of each era.
The signature leather patch is dyed with mud on Amami Oshima,
and the back style
