CWU-45P is a current model flight jacket used by the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps in the intermediate zone. Also known as MA-2 and J-CWFS, it has various specifications and variations from the earliest version before the name 45/P, from MIL-J-83388A to 83388E. It was adopted by the U.S. Navy in 1973 and by the U.S. Air Force in 1976. The basic color is Sage green, slightly different from the dark olive green used for other equipment, but recently, desert-colored models have also been adopted for local warfare in desert areas.
