■Champion
Founded in 1919 in Rochester, New York, by two brothers, Eipe and William Feinblum, who started wholesale knitwear sales. Champion Knitwear Company.
They began manufacturing and selling sweaters, and recognized for their high quality, they started taking orders for sweatshirts as underwear.
These sweatshirts later gained attention as training wear for the U.S. military and athletic wear for universities, and through Brooks Store (university cooperative), they spread to general students as townwear.
Eventually, they entered the professional sports world.
With over 100 years since their founding, the history of the American sports casual brand "Champion," which continues to evolve today, began in Rochester.
