In Herzogenaurach, near Nuremberg, Germany, brothers Rudolf and Adolf Dassler established the shoe manufacturing company "Dassler Brothers Sports Shoe Company."
Rudolf primarily handled sales, while Adolf was responsible for production.
Due to disagreements between the brothers, the "Dassler Brothers Sports Shoe Company" was dissolved.
Adolf founded Adidas.
The name "Adidas" is a combination of Adolf's nickname "Adi" and "Dassler."
Rudolf, on the other hand, established the RUDA company.
This later became Puma the following year.
