■Champion
In 1919, in Rochester, New York, two brothers, Abe and William Feinbloom, began wholesale sales of knit products, establishing Champion Knitwear Company.
They started manufacturing and selling sweaters, and due to their high quality, Champion began receiving orders for sweatshirts as underwear.
This sweatshirt later gained attention as training wear for the U.S. military and as athletic wear for universities, further spreading to general students through Brookstores (university co-ops).
Eventually, it also entered the world of professional sports.
Over 100 years since its inception, the history of the American sports casual brand "Champion," which continues to evolve, began in Rochester.
