Materials
Upper material: Suede Suede is a split leather that has been treated to create a nap. It has a velvet-like surface and a very soft touch. It also features high moisture absorption. Suede is inherently softer and more flexible than smooth leather, but its stability is inferior. The stability of Suede varies with each raw hide. This is not a defect of the material or manufacturing.
Insole: Natural leather Natural leather is characterized by its unprocessed surface. BIRKENSTOCK intentionally does not treat the surface grain (the pattern of the leather) or other features. The upper material uses durable leather with a thickness of 2.8 to 3.2 millimeters.
Footbed material: Cork Cork is a sustainable material extracted from the bark of the cork oak. This natural material excels in insulation and provides excellent cushioning.
Outsole: EVA EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, very lightweight, and highly elastic material that offers outstanding cushioning. Therefore, it absorbs slight irregularities in the floor surface, providing a gentle and enveloping feel with every step.
