PUMA

In 1924, Adolf and Rudolf Dassler developed shoes for gymnasiums. The brothers became independent in 1948, with Rudolf establishing his brand "Ruda." The name was changed to PUMA in 1949.

To look back at PUMA's history, one must go back to the early 20th century. The two Dassler brothers, Adolf and Rudolf, began their apprenticeship as shoemakers at their father's urging, who operated a shoe workshop. They later became independent and established the Dassler Brothers Sports Shoe Company in 1920. In 1924, they developed gym shoes using leather soles with rubber instead of shoelaces.
