■Dyeing
The dyeing of silk is called "Kasazome," a dyeing technique that is now only used for kimonos. Silk loses its shape when stretched and does not return. Therefore, care is taken during the manufacturing process to avoid putting tension on the threads as much as possible. "Kasazome" is the optimal technique as it dyes the threads in a relaxed loop state. Due to the labor-intensive nature of this method, it is gradually disappearing.

■Weaving
Also woven in the Nishijin district of Kyoto. It is woven at Orishin, a long-established weaving company, which is among the top in the domestic tie industry. Using traditional low-speed looms, it allows for "weaving with slack in the threads" and "firmly beating the weft," which cannot be achieved with the latest high-speed machines. This results in a fabric that is both voluminous and sturdy.

■Finishing
Pressing can crush and shrink silk. Many places avoid pressing for this reason, but we consider the slight crumpling as part of the charm. Since some customers are concerned about crumpling, this product is only lightly pressed to maintain its shape. The resulting product allows you to feel the snug sensation when tying it and the fullness of the silk. Depending on the weave structure, you may also hear a "squeak" sound from the silk, which I believe is the true form of a tie.
