WALES BONNER/Wales Bonner

Wales Bonner is a British fashion brand. Its designs are inspired by Jamaican culture, featuring elements of sportswear and tailoring techniques seen in jackets, which are emblematic of Wales Bonner. The concept is to "infuse the spirit of Afro-Atlantic into European traditions, proposing a unique notion of cultural luxury." It encompasses broad research in social theory, literature, and history, expressing a luxurious hybrid style that combines European and African tastes. Initially started as a menswear brand, it later expanded into womenswear.

The founder is Grace Wales Bonner. Born in 1990, her mother is Jamaican, influencing her work. In 2014, designer Grace Wales Bonner graduated from Central Saint Martins. Her graduation collection won the L'Oréal Professional Talent Award. After graduation, she founded "Wales Bonner" and debuted at the London Collection for Autumn/Winter 2015. She won the British Fashion Award for Menswear Designer. In 2016, she won the Grand Prize at the LVMH Prize. In Dior's 2020 Resort Collection, Grace Wales Bonner participated in a project reinterpreting the New Look silhouette. In 2021, she received the CFDA International Menswear Designer of the Year award.
