Pro-Keds is an American sneaker brand that was established in 1949 as a professional-use brand of "Keds." At that time, many NBA star players favored the "ROYAL," which used a canvas upper and is famous for being the world's first high-top basketball shoe. In the 1970s, it became strongly associated with youth culture, becoming a favorite among Ivy Leaguers, and was supported as "the CONVERSE of the West, the Pro-Keds of the East."
