In 1923, Central Overall Manufacturing was founded by two brothers and a cousin from Nashville, Tennessee, USA, as a company that manufactures and sells overalls. It gained support by providing durability, comfort, and excellent service. In 1927, it devised a premium workwear line and launched a new line featuring a logo with a red hat as an icon. Subsequently, the company changed its name and diversified its lineup to include work pants and tops, as well as chambray shirts. During World War II, it built reliability as a product and company by manufacturing combat uniforms and field jackets that "must never be damaged in harsh environments," and by the mid-20th century, it began handling uniforms for various industries across the United States.
