Over time, the color and luster of the deer leather become more vibrant, and the depth of the gloss increases, thanks to the incorporation of "lacquer" into the Inden-making process by our ancestor, Uehara Yushichi. The greatest charm of "Inden" is the beautiful patterns drawn by lacquer. Traditional patterns seen in Edo Komon, such as tortoise shell and dragonfly, create a "framework of delicate aesthetic beauty." Additionally, the lacquer that peels off with long use also expresses a profound richness. The "Kassai-bukuro," which means a bag that can hold anything, has been used for carrying a few belongings. In times when people carried little, it was convenient for holding money and a hand towel. Even today, its usage remains unchanged, making it very convenient for carrying small items like a wallet, smartphone, and towel, and the gusset allows for more items than it appears.
