☆CALZARTES is a brand that has been exclusively developed in Japan since 2003 as the third brand of the Spanish brand 【MEERMIN】 by the then Melmin Japan Co., Ltd.
Currently, it is handled by Ramis Japan, which inherits the DNA of Melmin Japan.
☆The products are not limited to those made in India; they are a collection manufactured by companies and factories with which we have built a long-term trust relationship through continuous transactions in Japan, Bangladesh, China, and other countries.
☆Origin of the brand name 【CALZARTES】: It is a combination of the Spanish word CALZADO = footwear and the English word ART.

☆This is a cost-effective Leather Sole Collection co-developed with Ramis Japan (Japan) and Affan Shoes Group in South India, manufactured in the group's own factories in India☆

【Soles that do not peel off even after long-term wear】
The leather sole collection from AMBUR Tajtan features a ‘360-degree full McKay construction’ with McKay stitching around the entire sole.
Similar to the Goodyear method, after McKay stitching around the entire sole, the heel is attached to the sole. Additionally, the welt (edge) is treated with a hand-crafted 【nail-out processing】, and the area around the heel is hand-trimmed, utilizing a meticulous bottoming technique.

【Beautiful form and shape】
Using the same three-dimensional cutting technology employed in high-end custom suit manufacturing 【prêt-à-porter】, we have achieved mass production through our unique 3D upper molding technology by adhering the cut parts onto a wooden mold.
During the upper sewing (lasting) stage, we minimize the use of adhesives and reduce the use of reinforcements to the bare minimum, alleviating stress on the leather and maximizing the inherent texture and functionality of natural leather.

【Carefully selected natural leather (raw hide) and dedicated secondary materials】
Only grain leather (silver-tipped leather) is used for the upper.
*We are particular about the raw hide. We do not use cowhide raw hides of unknown origin.
★Due to the characteristics of grain leather (silver-tipped leather), the intertwined fiber layers are hard at the beginning of wear, but as you wear them, the fiber layers loosen due to walking movements and temperature, eventually conforming to your feet.

☆The lining material is also made entirely of cow leather, providing a gentle feel against the foot inside the shoe and alleviating moisture.
We pursue maximizing the functionality and characteristics of natural leather, which is known for its property of 【leather breathes】. The counter is made of leather board molded counters from Italy's BACO company, which do not lose shape even after long-term wear and provide excellent heel hold. The sole is made of natural cow leather. The welt and heel use recycled leather, which is made by collecting and solidifying the fine particles of leather generated during the production and processing of leather soles. Its functionality and efficacy are almost the same as regular leather, making it an environmentally friendly material. After lasting, the space between the upper's underside and the sole and insole is generously filled with ‘granulated cork’ from Portugal. Similar to Goodyear-welted shoes, the cork “sinks” to conform to the shape of the wearer's foot over time, eventually transforming into an insole that matches the shape of the wearer's foot.
Additionally, the dedicated shoelaces are made of high-quality, durable waxed laces from Spain.

【Meticulous hand polish and hand-dye finishing】
The entire shoe is treated with an antique finish using custom ink from Italy's KENDA company, and the toe and heel areas are hand-polished with care and time to achieve a glossy finish.

【Last】
The last used is the 【CHIP】 British style last.
This is a new last developed in 2025, improved from the best-selling last 'ZIP'. The fit is similar to ZIP, but it has been modified to appear more three-dimensional (3D). The toe is almond-shaped, and the rounded body is widely used in lace-ups, slip-ons, and boot styles.
It is classified as an EE last, but it offers more room than equivalent lasts, accommodating slightly wider feet. The understated CHIP last has a timeless shape that transcends eras, suitable for various styles from classic oxfords (closed lacing) to whole cuts and loafers, making it versatile for everyday work attire as well as for 【ceremonial occasions】.

※As natural leather is used, there may be slight scratches, bloodlines, unevenness, and individual differences in texture due to the nature of the leather.
※To reduce packaging costs, we use white boxes made from recycled paper in Europe for each pair. There may be minor scratches, dents, or stains, but we appreciate your understanding.
Furthermore, the reduced packaging costs are passed on to our customers.
