Founded in 2011 in Cohasset, Massachusetts, OOFOS is a recovery shoe brand developed over two and a half years by a veteran team involved in product development for athletes, trainers, and major shoe manufacturers. They noticed that while there are many shoes that cause significant impact on the feet, there were none designed to absorb shock and aid recovery. Thus, they created OOFOS and became pioneers in recovery footwear. The special material OOfoam used in OOFOS products differs from the typical EVA midsole designed for propulsion; it can reduce shock rebound by 37%, thereby alleviating the impact on the soles of the feet upon landing. This helps reduce the strain on the knees, hips, and back, while the ergonomically designed footbed gently cradles the foot and provides firm arch support.
