In 1965, Sierra Designs was founded by George Marks and Bob Swanson in Richmond, California. It started as "SIERRA DESIGNS," manufacturing backpacking gear. The name is derived from the majestic Sierra Nevada mountains. As a serious outdoor brand known for its 60/40 cross-spec mountain parkas, it has introduced a new style of outdoor shoes through the Sierra Designs filter, characterized by an urban style.
