We are David and Fernando, co-founders of CARIUMA. To summarize briefly, over the years of working together, we realized our mutual love for board sports like skateboarding, surfing, and snowboarding, as well as for our home country of Brazil, which led us to establish Cariuma. We left our previous jobs to start a business with the shared idea of providing better services to people and the planet. We knew that the industry-standard "cool classic" sneakers were actually uncomfortable, that large companies were not fulfilling their social responsibilities, and that they were not actively engaging in sustainability. We also felt a sense of mission to confront the wasteful practices of fast fashion. It was important for us to restart the "sneaker game." That’s why our sneakers are designed to look good, feel comfortable, and be environmentally friendly. We wanted to create a long-lasting future classic that evolves with you and your style.
