Founded in 1853 by Mr. Levi Strauss in San Francisco, the brand has its origins in the general store and fabric business "Levi Strauss & Co." and is known for introducing jeans to the world.
During the Gold Rush, when gold mining was thriving, Levi's listened to the opinions of the workers in the gold mines and commercialized work pants made from canvas fabric used for tents and ship sails, which is also the origin of jeans.
