A new series from P.i.d made of combination chrome-tanned cowhide with a tasteful water ripple pattern that exudes elegance. It is a briefcase-type leather bag. The three-dimensional water ripple gives it a very atmospheric presence, leaving a special impression on the person carrying it. It features a slip pocket under the handle that can comfortably store essentials like wallets, pass cases, and smartphones, making it easy to access necessities. On the back, there is a magnetic slip pocket that can be used as a carry-on function when the zipper is opened. The handle can be secured with a leather clasp. The handle is attached to the main body with an I-shaped metal fitting, providing a structure that is not too rigid when carrying. With bottom studs, it stands upright, making it resistant to scratches. The original keyring strap from the cloche series features a flat tag with the P.i.d logo, a ring covered with leather and a hook, all designed to pass through a leather slit. The zipper pull has a slit, allowing for theft prevention by passing it through the D-ring on the left and using the included padlock. The interior includes versatile pockets and a cushioned pocket for a laptop, providing ample storage. Regarding the material, the raw hide of Zebu cattle is tanned using a method called combination tanning, where tannins and oils are placed in a rotating container called a taiko, and the container is rotated to tan the leather with tannins, followed by chrome tanning in the same process. Generally, this process is often reversed, but this product undergoes chrome tanning primarily based on tannins. Leather made with this method shows less discoloration and change compared to tannin leather. The edges (koba) are well-finished, allowing for edge polishing techniques, making maintenance relatively easy, combining the excellent features of both tanning methods. The main body is constructed with the outer leather sewn with a hammer stitch and the interior with a middle stitch. The outer and interior are sewn separately and finally brought together with a top stitch, using meticulous sewing techniques. The base of the handle is sewn inward, combining the main body and handle. Although the seam allowance is not visible and the sewing is difficult and time-consuming, it results in a clean finish with stitches that are hard to see from the front.
