The Fiser brothers, glassmakers, brought the techniques of glass cutting and polishing to North Bohemia. In 1724, the first factory aimed at mass production and export of crystal chandeliers, marking the beginning of Preciosa, was established in the city of Prache?, adjacent to Kamenický Šenov. In 1725, Czech chandeliers were ordered by the French king, Louis XV, for use in the Palace of Versailles and the Palace of Fontainebleau, and it is said that they were also ordered by the Ottoman Empire's King III. In 1743, Czech glass artisans presented an immortal masterpiece at the coronation of Maria Theresa. By 1760, Bohemian crystal jewelry and glass manufactured in the Jizera Mountains began to be sold worldwide. In 1905, Franz Joseph, the Emperor of Austria and King of Bohemia, made an official visit to the glassmaking town of Jablonec nad Nisou. In 1918, they ventured into stone cutting, polishing techniques, as well as fields like beads and chandelier decoration. In 1945, seven major glass factories formed a strategic alliance, leading to the establishment of the Preciosa Group. In 1990, Preciosa Chandeliers, Ltd was founded within the Preciosa Group. In 1994, the third company of the Preciosa Group, Preciosa Figurky s.r.o., was established.
