In the summer of 1994, Kim Gordon of SONIC YOUTH launched X-girl together with Daisy Von Furth, who was both a friend and a staff member at the "XLARGE" shop. The opportunity arose when Mike D of the BEASTIE BOYS, who had been involved with XLARGE since its inception in 1991, reached out to Kim, with whom he had previously established a connection. By introducing the clothes that Kim and Daisy wanted to wear, which were essentially their real clothes items, X-girl began to showcase items infused with graphics and designs, gaining attention as a women's street brand that not only influenced the fashion industry but also incorporated music and art, positioning itself as a pioneer of the "GIRL’S MOVEMENT." By integrating various elements from the street scenes of music, culture, and sports, X-girl continues to propose basic and timeless items that reflect "real girls' street style," adapting to the changes of the times.
