In Herzogenaurach, near Nuremberg, Germany, the Dassler brothers, Rudolf and Adolf, established the shoe manufacturing company "Dassler Brothers Sports Shoe Company."
Rudolf was mainly responsible for sales, while Adolf was in charge of production. Due to disagreements between the brothers, the "Dassler Brothers Company" was dissolved.
Adolf founded the Adidas company. "Adidas" is a combination of Adolf's nickname "Adi" and "Dassler."
Rudolf also established RUDA Company. This would become Puma Company the following year.
It is a brand that continues to support top athletes in many sports today.
